About Southern Pines UMC

As Christians in the United Methodist tradition, we emphasize God’s grace – which is the power of God to transform hearts and lives. 

We believe following Jesus, or discipleship, is a life-long journey of practicing the ways of Jesus as our way of being in the world; of growing in the knowledge and love of God; and of making God’s love known in real and practical ways. We believe deeply in the promise of eternal life, and we also believe God’s Kingdom is a present reality where we are called to be active participants, growing in faith, hope, and love. 

We share a common heritage with all Christians, holding the following basic affirmations in common with all Christian communities:
