Monday Morning Food Pantry
The Southern Pines UMC Food Pantry plays a vital role in addressing food insecurity in our broader community. Groceries are distributed to 150-225 individuals every Monday morning from 10:00AM to 11:30AM at the lower entrance to the church facility. There are four ways you can support this vital service to our community.

How Can You Get Involved
Serve as a grocery “picker-upper!
Each weekend, members of our church are dispatched to Food Lions and other businesses in our community to pick up food reserves they have set aside specifically for the SPUMC Food Pantry. Once these reserves are picked up, they are returned to the church and placed in cold or dry storage for distribution on Monday morning. (Note: its generally helpful for at least 2 individuals to collect the food reserves…and usually the storage of at least a small SUV is needed)
Help distribute groceries on Monday mornings!
Food Pantry set up begins at 9:30AM at the lower entrance to the church facility (on the Clematis Road side of the building), for distribution to begin at 10:00AM. Distribution continues until 11:30AM or until the groceries run out. All persons from age 5 and up are welcome to serve (and yes, kids help to serve all the time!).

Pray for all those connected with our Food Pantry – from the network of food picker-uppers, to Monday morning helpers, to our friends and neighbors who utilize the Food Pantry.
Financial Support
Your generous financial support helps us to purchase extra food as needed, to cover the utility costs of the fridges and freezers the Food Pantry requires, and to help with the summer reading program associated with the Food Pantry.
