The Music Ministry at Southern Pines UMC welcomes guests and new friends and is always interested in sharing the gift of music as we sing His praises! It is a comprehensive inter-generational program that serves as an integral part of the worship and discipleship ministry of the church.

“Music and Faith Forum”
Jan. 14th | 10a | Village Chapel, Pinehurst
Our Director of Choirs, Taylor Hickey, will sit down for a discussion on the intersection of faith and music with Stephen Gourley, of The Village Chapel as a part of their “Music and Faith Forum.” Community members are welcome to attend this discussion on Wednesday, January 14th at 10 am at The Village Chapel. A video recording of the event will be posted following their discussion.
Community MLK, Jr. Celebration Service
The Chancel Choir will once again lift their voices to the greater Southern Pines community in an upcoming MLK Jr. celebration service. This decades old West Southern Pines gathering is a community effort headed by Matthew Walden, Pastor of Faith missionary Baptist Church. The service will take place at the West Southern Pines Cultural Art Center (1250 W. New York Ave) on Sunday, January 18th, 3:30 pm. All members of our community are welcome to attend this unifying an uplifting event.

Come join us for fellowship and praise! Chancel Choir provides music primarily for the traditional service, yet also sings at the early service on occasion throughout the year. Beyond providing music for weekly services, the choir enjoys singing for assisted living communities at different points throughout the year and is richly connected with a variety of other aspects of our church life.
Chancel Choir also looks forward to producing the annual Advent Cantata with Orchestra and providing opportunities for all interested members to participate in smaller ensemble settings. With so many new projects unfolding we hope that you will get involved and Come and See Us!
