Little People Loving & Learning Teachers

Monica Eggleston: Little People Loving and Learning Preschool Director

Hello and welcome to Southern Pines United Methodist Church Child Development Center “Little People Loving and Learning.” I am so glad you, your family and little one(s) are here. Whether this is your first year with us or your fourth, welcome! We have a wonderful team of teachers who are going to love on your littles every day, teach them about Jesus and kindness and help them to grow more independently through hands-on learning in their big world.

I attend church here at SPUMC with my husband, Dusty, and two children, Hudson and EmmyJane. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading books, drinking coffee and checking out our beautiful state of NC. I am a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a B.A. in Childhood and Family Development. I have been working at LPLL for five years.

Susan Cooper: Assistant All classrooms

I am married to Lewis Cooper and we have five children, five grandchildren, one dog and one cat and my husband and I attend church here at SPUMC. I graduated from Sandhills Community College and Central Carolina Community College.

I presently work here as an assistant teacher and also work in the SPUMC nursery during both church services on Sunday. I enjoy sewing, needlework, cooking and gardening.

Ashley DuVall: Pre-K Lead Teacher

I attended Washtenaw Community College to earn my associate’s degree in human services. Currently, I am taking online classes through Liberty University for my bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. My husband and I have two boys, Henry and Wyatt, who both attended LPLL when they were little. In my spare time I enjoy knitting and crocheting, raising our chickens, and exploring nature with my family.

Maria Martinez: Pre- K Assistant Teacher

I am a wife and proud mom of three wonderful kids. I have been part of the LPLL family since 2018. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family.

Anna Harris: One's Lead Teacher

My husband, Mark, and I have two sons, Jones (15) and Eli (13).  I have a BA degree from Elon, majoring in Social Work with a minor in Spanish. Following graduation, I attended UNC-Greensboro to obtain my certification in Sign Language interpreting with in the NC Public School System. I have been a teacher at LPLL since 2018. I enjoy gardening, yoga, and time with family and friends.

Nicole Skadburg: One's Assistant Teacher

I became a part of this amazing team after my daughter’s first year here at the school in 2018. I’ve been a substitute teacher in all the classrooms and made a decision to stay with the one-year-olds. When my husband can get time off from the military, we love to camp, hang out with friends, and visit our favorite place, Walt Disney World.

Rhonda McKinney: Two's Lead Teacher

My husband and I have been members of Southern Pines United Methodist Church since 2009 and we are very active in the church. I started here as a substitute teacher and have been the lead teacher for both the two-year-olds and three-year-olds.

Ellen Anigian: Lead Teacher Combined One's & Two's / Two's Assistant

This is my first full year at LPLL. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in swallowing disorders and cognition. I am currently earning an online M.S. in Nutrition and Integrative Health at Notre Dame of Maryland University based in Baltimore. My hobbies are camping, hiking with my dogs, running, weightlifting, reading, baking sourdough bread, puzzling, needle pointing and interior design.

Jessica Marvin: Three's Lead Teacher

I attended Liberty University to pursue a degree in early childhood education. I have over 15 years of teaching experience and take great pride in laying the foundation for my student's educational journey. In 2020 I began teaching at LPLL, surrounded by an exceptional community of families, I quickly realized this supportive environment was the perfect fit for me.

Nancy Reynolds: Three's Assistant Teacher

I have been as assistant teacher here for four years. I started out as a substitute teacher in the two-year-old classroom while teachers were on maternity leave; then shortly after that, I was hired permanently in the three-year-old classroom. I attend church here at SPUMC and my youngest daughter attended LPLL in both the three-year-old and Pre-K classrooms.

My husband, Jim, and I have been married for 18 years. We have two beautiful daughters, Lydia 16 and Jamie 13. In my free time, I enjoy rooting for my girls in marching band and theater, searching for sharks’ teeth at the beach and Aurora Fossil Museum, gardening, watching the sunrise, camping and chilling out with my family.
